grab a beer.

We've scoured the country to find the very best from the UK's craft beer scene expect to see many a brew from Buxton Brewery, Kernel and Beavertown alongside up and coming breweries on the cusp of breaking down the doors.

Here at The Bear we believe in fantastic beer, great food and a warm, welcoming and friendly vibe. There's plenty to keep you entertained too, from the trivia cards on every table to a the ever growing supply of board games.

We host a Traditional Irish Session every Thursday evening from 8pm til late and a weekly quiz hosted by the legendary Paul Partridge which is a combination of raucous and challenging every Sunday from 5pm.

You can book tables for either by clicking the button below.

Our love of fantastic British beer is at the heart of what we're about, it's a broad journey featuring everything from 4% Session IPA's all the way through the beery spectrum to 12% Belgian style Quadruples. We'll be posting our beer selection regularly in the "News" section, check ahead to see what's on. We also other a broad range of spirits, a carefully curated wine list and we've been known to knock up a mean Bloody Mary on a Sunday lunch time.

The Back Room is perfect for hosting larger parties, gatherings, celebrations, meetings, local clubs and just about anything else.

Food is served 7 days a week by our friends at Malt + Pepper

KITCHEN RESIDENCY: MALT + PEPPER

UNTIL DECEMBER 2017

We're trying something different in the Kitchen at The Bear, and have teamed up with Malt + Pepper, who claim to be the first UK's entirely beer led, food concept. They're taking beer and spent grain and cooking with it. Expect everything from pork belly braised in stout to spent grain brownies.

They're also cooking up a mean Sunday roast, hosting supper clubs and there are mumblings that a brunch menu could be on the way.
